Dr. Andrew Light most recently served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Affairs (2021–2025) under the Biden-Harris administration, focusing on global clean energy leadership and energy security. Previously, he was a key member of the global U.S. team that negotiated the Paris Agreement and served in senior roles at the State Department from 2013–2016. In the NGO sector, Light held leadership roles at the World Resources Institute and the Center for American Progress, working on major international climate dialogues. Academically, he has published over 100 scholarly works, edited 19 books, and contributed to more than 20 major policy reports on climate and sustainability.
